Folding vs Wire Tyres

    Hey,

Newbie question but is there any performance issues with a folding tires vs wire. Was just buying some tyres online for the first time ever and and CRC have Ultra Gatorskins (my new bike came with piss poor tyres and I got a puncture in the rain this morning) coming in tomorrow but only in folding.

Just wanted to make sure that I'm not trading off puncture resistance with getting a folding tyre cos coming into Winter I don't want to be stopping every second day.

    Cheers,

    CL.

Whether a tyre is folding (kevlar bead) or non-folding (wire bead) has no effect at all on puncture resistance. The bead is what hooks onto the rim. Wire beaded tyres are cheaper but heavier.
