there's a luthier called John Conway- i think he lives in clare,

I've never used him but anything i've heard is that he's nothing less than amazing. he fixed and set up my buddies double bass and did a great job. I don't have any contacts but a search of the name and his job online might get you what you need.

I ended up going to a guy called James Beatley, he set my double bass up real nice.
He Put on a new bridge, did a lot of work to the neck and basically got it working great. The man is a legend, he knows everything about musical instruments. He even send sine waves through the wood he uses to test its tonal qualities.
www.beatley.ie is his website, he also makes violins and cellos.

I actually went to John Conway a couple of times with my double bass. He adjusted the sound post, put on a new bridge, re-glued the top after it came off () and re-inforced all the old cracks. Found him very good.
The bad news is I can't find his damn number anywhere. If it helps, he's based in County Limerick, near Lough Gur.
