after reading the thread about where we all should hide out in dublin city centre come the outbreak, i think that it would be a good idea for somebody to take charge (and im not saying that that person should be me) and get everybodies contact details so that in case of an outbreak, we can all unite together and hide in a matter of hours.

An emergency contact list if you will :)

You gotta go solo, or in extreme cases make it a duo but its gotta be extreme!

Nah, i dont believe in the solo effort. You need at least 1 person to watch your back. Sleeping in shifts, teamwork, hunting, is all a lot easier with someone with you, Just make sure they are trustworthy.

No, I'll join you. I go mad after about a day if I don't have someone to talk to.

I live in Cork/Galway though so I may have to journey to you.

    Westmeath of Offaly.

Mullingar would seem to be the best bet.

I wouldn't recommend staying there for too long though. We'd have to move elsewhere to minimise the chances of us getting turned around in an unfamiliar area. That would probably be Dublin because my sense of direction is so bad I can't even navigate my way around Galway city without running the risk of getting really really lost.

That place is a hornets nest of 'undesirables' at the best of times, stay away from built up areas all together! Get into the country side where noise is minimal (so you can hear oncoming Z's), its not nearly as populated (less risk of infection spreading) and stay in small concealed groups (Tops 3 to 4 people, any more and you run the risk of one of them f**kin up and getting you all killed!)

I'd agree with staying away from built up areas but we'll need to get weapons/food etc. So a brief trip to a built up area will probably be required. The earlier the better of course.

As for the amount of people, 3 or 4 sounds about right. 5 or 6 if they can all be very useful (enough to offset the increased risk at least).

Not necessarily true that a small group is the best either.A good group is 8 people[Basically a section in Army terms]If these people have skills and have preped themselves in a good location. They are well on the way to survive the Zs.If they know somthing about fightingwith firearms or have thought out proper plans to forage a town. There is nothing to stop them from staying in a town either.

True. But we'll largely be untrained and would probably fare better in smaller harder-to-notice groups.

We on this forum take pride in our physical fitness and skills. I can repair most electronics and I can run a few miles no problem :D.

I take pride in my skills (good with electronics, computers etc. as well) but I'm not what you could call physically fit. Running a "few miles" might be sufficient to kill me.

Also, in terms of weaponary, I know the basics as to how a gun works and a little bit of how to use one but I've never even seen a real one, never mind held/fired one.

    Will you protect me? Please?

    Does that qualify me? :)

    3 things.
    1. there will be no society, Z-day will see to that, thus rendering your social commentary useless.
    2. no-one likes a smart-ass.
    3. with beer, wit, sarcasm and most other forms of humour or entertainment are not necessary.
unless "witty social commentary" is code for vodka/ beer making equipment.
