Spanish API Question - Urgent!

    Hi guys,

Quick question.. my brother, his girlfriend and daughter had flights booked for Barcelona. They decided not to take their daughter. Advance Passenger Info is required for spain. When trying to give the Advanced Passenger Info on the Aer Lingus website, they were asked for their daughters passport info too (which she doesn't have). Since there doesnt seem to be a way of removing someone from a booking (and they've been trying all day to call Aer Lingus), what is their best course of action?

Can the API be given in the airport at check-in? They are flying on Wednesday, so I'd like to get this sorted ASAP... cheers.

I'll be back online in the morning... :)

Simply enter dirty data for their daughter and the correct data for their own booking.

With Aer Lingus the API may be given at check-in.

On the left hand side of the Ryanair website click on Advance Passenger Information and follow the instructions.
With Ryanair there is no facility to add this information at the airport and if you do not supply the information online they will not allow you to fly.

Just to add this officially (so anyone searching for this info in the next few months might find it) - my brother and girlfriend gave the Advanced Passenger Info in the airport and travelled no problem. You CAN do it in the airport with Aer Lingus, you CANNOT do it in the airport with RyanAir (as of September, 2008).

Thanks again for the help, folks...

I got an email from Ryanair the other day which mentioned and gave a link to the Spanish API section.

The thing is I'm flying to Italy (Pisa) not Spain. Do the include the API section in all emails now? Potentially the flight path could be over Spain but I doubt they'd need the info for that.

Do I need to fill it in?

API is only required for flights to Spain. It is expected that all Schengen countries will require the information in due course but for the moment only Spain has implemented the measure.
