I like the look and feel of the Taylormade Rossa Classic.

If you want something really special, go for the Odyssey Tour Authentic.

I have the Taylor Made Rossa Daytona and would recommend it Jonny24ie.

Really striking looks and the face creates a lovely roll. One thing i like is the red face which creates a line behind the ball against the black top edge when you look over the ball.

I got myself the Daytona in the end, it was between the siena and the daytona and the daytona felt better.
That and the fact I was getting a brand new R7 cart bag at the same time for €60.

I bought a new titleist scotty cameron a few weeks ago - studio select newport. really lovely putter (but expensive at something like €299). Nice weight and the kind of feel off the face that I like (softer than my previous odyssey two ball). I have heard good things about the taylormade Rossa range too.

that scotty cameron newport studio has to be one of the most beautiful putters ever but very expensive i paid 200 for the taylor made rossa spider which is also crazy money (were being ripped off big time) well at least the wife is in the dark

I bought a odyssey two ball putter a few months ago, loved it on long puts but couldnt for the love of christ sink anything inside 5 feet.
Picked up a Ping Ug-lee in the shop( and it is ugly) and liked the feel of it and no problems since.I think its hard to recommend a putter as its purely down to individual feel.

I'd recommend the Rossa putters too, I love it. I do like the feel you get from the Scottys too, but the money they ask for them is ridiculous.

I'm always astounded by the fact that most people think €299 is extremely expensive for a putter yet would think nothing of spending the same amount on a driver. I don't even have to say which club you'd end up using more. :pac:

Basically, imo, a player playing off single figures should be playing with the most suitable putter he/she can find regardless of the expense. In other words, if you're willing to shell out ~€300 for a driver you should be willing to spend the same on a putter.

Having said that my uncle is quite possibly the best putter I've ever seen, I don't think he's ever missed a putt from inside 5 foot. And his putter? Its a ping anser he got in a second hand barrell in 1982 for £3. So its all relative to what suits ya! :P

all of the above previous contributions simply prove it's the player and not the club - you could spend 1000 euro on a putter but if you are rubbish and do not practice enough then it's not going to make the slightest bit of difference to your game.

as for the we are being ripped off comment while still paying 200 euro for a putter well.................................................

I find it very interesting to read posts like this and just wanted to ask why you feel your being ripped off? equipment comes in all different price points, which is normally dictated by the build quality and the materials used in the product. My thinking on this is, if you want the best you gotta pay the price.

i have no problem paying for a quality putter but i was refering that we are getting ripped off in ireland you can generally buy products 20 to 30% cheaper in the uk while the vat difference is only 3 and a half %
the full effects of the strenght of the euro is not been passed on to the consumer

Apologies man, I didn't pick up on the issue you were highlighting. The issue of price unfortunatly is with the supplier not the retailer, with prices being issued at the start of any given year the suppliers are very slow to pass on the savings of the fluctuating currency market (to the irish market). I suppose you could compare it to the current issue of petrol costs, the price of oil has fallen a reasonable amount in the last few weeks from an all time high yet the petrol station are very slow to reduce prices at the pumps.

I use one of these. Cost me e60 here in Ireland. Works better for me than more expensive models.

Have you tried the Yes putter range. I know they stocked them in celbridge. Expensive but they are highly recommended. Been looking into getting one, but with the recession looming I cant justify the big splash out.

Its the 2 ball for me, ever since they came on the market

It's also economys of scale as in the UK the retailers buy in huge numbers compared to even the likes of McGuirks.

I know when I worked in McGuirks the margin on any of the top clubs was bugger all if any and they had to over stock to try and get bundles that allowed them avail of any special offers to make a profit
