As a dub, Im wondering where it all went wrong - the 70's were great, the 80's not bad then 95 was the last time we did anything!!!!!!!!!!

Whats going on, anyone else want to discuss??

your team is over hyped. Instead of sitting down, analysising your weaknesses and working on them you go out expecting to win and being genuinely surprised when you get thumped by teams with any real quality.

You need a manager from outside Dublin who doesn't buy into the hype and will get an honest work-rate out of the players. Only problem is that the job is a poisoned chalice- any manager that would do that doesn't want the scrutiny on him for dropping old darlings.

Oh thank god someone figured it all out. When can you start ?:D

What happened/whay are the dubs unable to win an All Ireland has been discussed at lenght in half the threads I have been involved in. There is loads of elements at play here and Hype is not even near the top of the list. The last manager Dublin had from outside dublin was a disaster of the highest order. I dont think internal politics is a factor either..nto at the moment, we would play any player from any club if there was a chance of AI glory.

Sorry for being a bit ot but are you talking about Tommy Lyons?
He is a Dub I know he was born in Mayo but he considers himself a Dub as he moved there at a young age.

he is in his hole. I dont think he considers himself a dub either. I dunno..always considered him an Out of towner. Doesnt matter if the next manager is from the congo as long as he gets the job done.

Haha:D No I'm probably wrong but I think I remember hearing somewhere that he considered himself a Dub? Didn't he play for Kilmacud Crokes at one stage?

Anyway I'm a big fan of bringing in managers from a different county, no politics, no sh1t, and they tend to bring a different perspective to the team!

There is clearly something mentally wrong with him if he wants to consider himself a Dub when he isn't!:pac::P:P

Manager-wise he might aswell be a Dub i suppose tho. Has been involved in Dublin clubs for ages so the strategy and management style would be what he learnt here. I would have nothing against going for a manager outside of Dublin tbh, i think there could be alot to be said for it.

At underage we are beaten off the park by most teams in Leinster. The current crop of senior players are mainly the AI U-21 winners from 2003. They have no underage support though and we have to rely on the old reliables. We won the AI club title, were runners up in the AI Intermediate club championship and are the reigning AI Junior football champions. One man acheived two of those recent feats. Mick Deegan for manager:pac:
