Is there a mandatory requirement to submit copy of driving, car insurance, NCT, DOE etc if requested to do so.

You may get a nasty surprise when your summonsed to court for not producing your documents.

You had to produce your details before (and therefore know the requirements) and are wondering, given a recent incident, if you could get away without producing. Are you missing something (e.g. insurance)?

What will happen if I don't comply.

Essentially you will be convicted for not having them. e.g. driving with no tax, licence, insurance, nct, etc etc.

    You really don't want that.

I have no issue with declaring documents as I have done before, the question arises because the instruction is issued verbally at the side of the road, with a station nominated etc, I have no official written record of what was requested or the time frame in which to do so, which would seem to be a very grey legal area I would of thought.

    Am no
You were requested to produce all relevant documents within 10 days
So if there all in order not a problem

If not then you shouldn’t be on the road
It should only take 20 min to deal with it

Gardai can make a lawful demand of
    Driving Licence
    Certificate of Insurance or Exemption
    NCT Certificate - Private Vehicles
    DOE - Commerical Vehicles

Failure to produce these documents may lead to Sumonses been issued.
