Just wondering which aeg has a reputation of being accurate. I like the idea of hanging back and trying a few single shots but would like to have the fully auto to. Was looking at the military steyr on eirsoft.ie, looks pretty cool

The most accurate auto capable rifle is probably the TM and G&G M14's. There aren't many rifles out there that can touch it for out-of-the-box accuracy. They've also got serious range and a good rate of fire.

Agreed with Dex, one of the most accurate rifles is the M14

The p90 also has very impressive range for such a small piece.

It wouldn't be as accurate as the M14 but it is a great rifle. A couple of cheap mods to it like a tightbore barrel and a guarder hop rubber would give it a great boost though.

TBH I think the level of accuracy of most AEGs (with a decent barrel length) is all within a similar range. Some might be a little more accurate but for the actual range you are shooting at I don't think you'd notice a huge difference.

You can't "hang back" too far or you just won't reach your target ;)

Not exactly, although power wise you can't extend the range, a few improvements like a tightbore and a better hop unit could give you an extra 5-10 yards. I use a marksmans rifle with a couple of minor airseal and hop upgrades with a tightbore barrel and can easily outrange just about every aeg I come across during an average skirmish by 8-10 yards. The few I haven't managed to reach were usually M14's with similar minor mods.
Because of this I can often "hang back" or stray out to the periphery and put down harassing fire on positions out of my teams range without much fear of coming under fire myself. I've seen M14 users do the same on a number of occasions.

Fair point but "out of the box" are there any AEG's that you can just hang back with? I don't think leprechaun would want to go modding as soon as he gets a gun.

Well that's why I said the M14 would be a good option. It has a better range and accuracy than just about any aeg rifle in it's original, stock, "out-of-the-box" form.

Ok, sorry. I just didn't think there was really that big a difference at the range we're shooting esp. wrt accuracy.

The A&K SR25 is also a good sniper platform. Its very accurate and has good range. It also has loads of rails for scopes, bipods etc.
