Just a quick question guys, if I want to connect 4 laptops together (without internet) do I need an ethernet hub? Or is it possible to use my D-Link cable router, or would that need to be picking up internet to work? Any suggestions?

The d-link will work providing it has enough ports for the computers, no need for the net to be connected to it for it to work.

    MC

PS post the model number of the d_link and I can check for you.

    Yipee my 1500th post!!!!!!!!

    Cheers for that.
    It's a D-Link DIR-635 Router.
    It's got 4 LAN sockets.

If they all have wireless then you can set up an ad-hoc wireless conneciton between them. Crap for transferring huge files though.
