so, its that time of year where we get an idea of who is going to make the all stars. of course the final will determine who from kerry and tyrone will make it.

so, who are the shoe ins already from the counties gone?

from a kerry point of view.

if Kerry were to win it, i would expect -

    Thomas O Shea
    Killian Young
    Colm Cooper
    Tommy Walsh
    Kieran Donnaghy

with a surprise inclusion of seamus scanlon with a good final.

Young player of the year - Tommy Walsh (which normally costs them all stars)
Player of the year - depends

i havent really been following tyrone closely enough to see who deserves one, but im sure kavanagh will be in the running for player of the year also.

From a Wexford stand point I think the only runners are Matty Forde, Red Barry and Ciaran Lyng and maybe at a push, PJ Banville and thats be very generious

The choices you have seem fine. More Kerry than tyrone I believe in the final All stars. Would love to see Shane Ryan getting the nod but that ain't happening

Dont think its really fair to say till after the final. it will come from one of Tyrone and Kerry and a players ability to perform on the big day is part of the selection process.

Dolph Lundgren from Rocky 4...ahem... I mean Tommy Walsh has been the best newcomer by a mile. Also a good 6 or 7 Tyrone lads could be in contention beased on their improvement of performance

Tommy Walsh and biran dooher square up before All Ireland Final

Marty Morrissey secures an exclusive interview after the Final with Brian Dooher who out scored Walsh by 3 points and killed 2 Kerry players ( with the help of Ryan McMenamin ..Actually McMenamin killed them but dooher made it look like a free to tyrone)
Although we was asked about the large knife he was carrying...

Mickey (Heart) put's sucess down to having Sean Cavnagh lead the squad in chicken chasing and punching sides of beef every day "If you can catch a chicken you can track Tomas O'Se out of defence"

ISPCA is looking into the claim that Tommy McGuigan bit the head of a chicken he caught..." See dat, thats the Kerry defence against me so it is"

Heres my team but forced into a few positional changes.
1.J Devine[Doesnt concide many goals and varies his kick outs well]
2.R McMenamin[Does more attacking than defending but it works]
3.J McMahon[If he keeps Donaghy quiet he will more than deserve it]
4.A Lynch[Did well on possibly the most talented footballer the gooch in 3 games]
    5.Graham Canty[Corks most consistent player]
6.Aidan O Mahoney[bar his brief acting Career has had a solid season]
    7.Tomas O Se[Kerrys most consistent player]
8.Scanlon[Contributes all over the field-probably has covered more ground than any other player in Ireland this season even Shane Ryan]
9.Brendan Doyle[Fantastic season in the exception of the Dublin game]
    10.Walshe[Young player of the year]
11.Kavanagh[Has added the direction needed to the Tyrone attack]
    12.Cooper[Surely this is not debateable]
    13.Meehan[His display against Kerry]
    14.Donaghy[Same as Cooper]
15.Lyng[Contribute more to the team game than Forde]

    Subs-
    1.Cluxton
    2.M O Se
    3.Gourmley
    4.Spillane
    5.Cahill
    6.Harte
    7.K Young
    8.S Ryan
    9.McGinely
    10.McCullough
    11.P O Neill
    12.Dooher
    13.Matty Forde
    14.Cussen
    15.Donnacha O Connor

OK, it's a bit early but here goes!

1.J Devine[Doesnt concide many goals and varies his kick outs well]
2.R McMenamin/S.Gowan[Will depend on the AI, McMenamin was poor in the 2 Down games, Gowan solid all year]
3.J McMahon[If he keeps Donaghy quiet he will more than deserve it]
4.A Lynch[Did well on possibly the most talented footballer the gooch in 3 games]
5.D. Harte[Very criticised player having a great season]
6.M. McGrath[probably should be midfield but can play here]
    7.Killian Young
8.Scanlon[Contributes all over the field-probably has covered more ground than any other player in Ireland this season even Shane Ryan]
9.E. McGinley[Fantastic season, big reason for Tyrone tur around]
    10.Walshe[Young player of the year]
11.Kavanagh[Has added the direction needed to the Tyrone attack]
    12.Cooper
    13.Meehan[His display against Kerry]
    14.Donaghy
15.McCullough[delivered twice in Croker under severe pressure]

Philip Jordan, Gormley, Dooher and T. McGuigan could be there after the AI.

Close: Mattie, Alan Brogan, Shane Ryan, B. Doyle, Lyng, Pearse O'Neill.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

dont know why Masterson of Wexford isnt being considered for goalkeeper spot. 4 clean sheets in 6 games. Good with kick outs (see Armagh game for this) and made some vital saves throughout the championship (Meath the first day, last minute against Armagh). Cluxton always seems to be nominated or win it without ever doing much. Not saying he is a bad keeper or anything like that, but I dont see what he did this year to deserve an all star or nomination ahead of others.

He shipped 3 goals against Dublin!!! Not saying they were all his fault but generally the keepers who concede the least goals in the big games of the championship get the nod and Devine is ahead on that score and his kick outs are equally as good.I dont think anyone would argue that Cluxton is the best keeper in the game at the moment, its just unfortunate for him that his defence are only average and his team dont progress far enough for him to be a shoe in.Post ur team!!!:D
