Looking to get a high spec Laptop for graphics intensive applications. Not interested in Dell XPS, was wondering has anyone ever used voodoo pc. If so are they any good. Or could someone recommend an equivalent (again not Dell)

Just curious, but why not Dell?

Any Budget? And what kind of size are you looking at? large display? Small? etc. I've been hearing great things about Dell xps 1530 and the 1730 alike.

Budget would be 2500 tops. Again no interest in Dell XPS, can you suggest something equivalent :)

Well when you answer the Question " Why not Dell?" maybe we'll be more inclined to answer you.

How about what size screen you want, portability etc, really need to give more info to get more info!

Let me put it this way, everyone flies Ryanair. I don't. Everyone buys Dell. I don't. I'm looking for something equivalent to the XPS m1730. Please don't suggest the XPS m1730 :D

Asus and Rock make very nice gaming laptops, check those out, but here, a lot of them around the high prices ranges are still only equipped with dual 8700's, that sort of thing - at that price range, I'd be leaning towards the 1730 with dual 8800GTX....if you really want to spend it.

I was going to order from Rock (Pegasus 680), but they went out of business they day before I could order from them. I dodged the bullet on that one alright. So I bought a Dell. Oh well, what the hell.... I certainly paid a premium price for the thing...

They got bought out a while back, by a company called Stone I think... How Ironic.. so they should be on a solid foundation for the time being. One thing to remember though, is that they are in England... and charge British VAT in British pounds. There is/was a currency converter on their website... but it's pretty easy to get taken in by a seemingly cheap laptop..

I know I was overjoyed when I saw a dual SLI 17 inch desktop replacement for 1500.... then realised it was in Pounds... and without VAT.

Anyway, the thing with Ryanair is...90% of people do get where they were going quite happily... even if the oxygen masks have a small coin-slot in the side with "In case of emergency, insert two Euro for Oxygen,"
