They're almost as bad as doobs.

    Remember doobs?

People wear those f*cking things with everything short of a wedding dress! Morons.

If you had/have a pair of doobs, sorry to offend you. But you are a moron.

I'm shocked that you've never seen them before! If you ever have to pass through Templeogue, Terenure, Rathfarnham, Blackrock, UCD, or well...... most places on the Saithside :pac: (Dublin!) then you'll think they're filming an ad for the shoes.

You have been blessed! Keep your innocense!

Thankfully the trend seems to have diminished lately... can't wait to see the next one...

I used to work in Ballsbridge and never once seen a pair of them.

I used to work in Ballsbridge and never once seen a pair of them.

That's probably because they are just another type of shoe that some people wear, rather than the hideous atrocity that Dave! is making them out to be in his little inverted-snobbery rant. And yes, I wear them because they are seriously comfortable and last for years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,005 ✭✭✭✭Toto Wolfcastle

A girl I know wears her Crocs everywhere and says they are really comfortable but they wreck your feet. I don't understand how they can be both really.

    Whatever. They're horrendously ugly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,260 ✭✭✭swingking

Dave is spouting inverted-snobbery of the highest kind. I guess all you're used to seeing in Tallaght is people wearing runners. Runners are not fashionable, it's just lazy and not making an effort to dress well.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,442 ✭✭✭Firetrap

The only thing that's worse than crocs is people wearing colourful ankle socks and crocs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,562 ✭✭✭connundrum

I think the main distributer for Ireland is located in the same business park as me. The guys are often seen walking in and out of their offices with a full suit and crocs on.

God awful looking tbh. You know you've got a shit product when Pennys brings out their own version and they look 99% alike.

and another thing, wtf are with the accessories for them?? why oh why would you be seen not alone wearing them but a plastic flower or bee in them!!!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,970 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

    Comfy as fuck tbh.

Don't wear them myself but they are great for nippin down to the beach etc. (Oh yeah, you folks wouldn't know what that's like! :p)

I see them everywhere in PA, usually on the backs of trucks that also have giant "GET R DONE" decals on the rear windshield.

Are these things called crocs because they are crocks of shít?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,496 ✭✭✭LolaLuv

Yes; how kind of Crocs and Uggs to let their purchasers know that their products are Crocs of **** and Uggly right up front.

PS: Every time I see your avatar I laugh!

You shouldn't. This is the internet, serious business and all that. :D I hate to break it to you but I might be changing it soon.

Boooo!!! The next one should be a still from a Mentos commercial, it's the only thing worthy of replacing your current one.

    I do.

I wear mine for walking the dog down to the beach. Probably not quite as warm as yours though:rolleyes::) no way would I wear them anywhere else though (And certainly not with socks).

Great summer shoes for kids tbh.

I would rather go bare foot than wear Crocs. They are a crime against feet along with sandals imo.

    It's Dubes, not Doobs, people!

And that Ugg "phase" someone mentioned has been going on for about 6 years now. When are they going to just fuck off and die???

And Crocs are made of rubber, no? Recipe for stinky feet, if you ask me...

They're made from a type of rubber that doesn't make your feet sweat. That's the selling point.

Personally I think not making them an affront to eyesight would have been a better selling point, but each to his own, I 'spose!

Um, crocs serve a purpose.... for people in and around the water. They are designed for people to would often have their feet in the water in or around beaches/stones etc. and need foot protection. Wetsuit 'booties' are all well and good but retain water and don't allow your feet to breathe. Crocs allow water to escape and air out your feet, while giving protection etc.

Funny I spend so much time around the water, yet still haven't bought a pair  Wouldn't be caught dead wearing them outside a marine enviornment though

I dont wear them outside the house cos they are hideous.

I wear them in the garden, thats about it.....

Don't see much beach/pebbles around Henry Street, but yet there's all the idiots in their Croc-encrusted glory.

Love Uggs in winter time though, keep your tootsies lovely and warm! :D

I am a proud owner of crocs and I wear them everywhere, I suppose I am at an age where I couldn't give a flying fcuk what people think of them or me. They maybe ugly but they are the most comfortable yolks you could ever wear on your feet.

I agree, must be an age thing. I couldn't care less if they are ugly (which they are) they are so comfortable its worth it. Also, they've been around for years, its hardly a new phenomenon.
