Hey lads. Was thinking about getting a UMP/UMG but im quite confused about which model is the best out there. I've read review of the star G&G and the Double eagle and they all seem to have problems. There seems to be no clear winner.

Does anyone have any advice which in their opinion is the best model.

For me the "best" would be reliability and functionality.

    Cheers

Hand on heart, the G&G model floors the others. I've used it and the double eagle one and there's just no comparison. The Star one does have a couple of niggles, the main one being the lack of spare parts should somehong go wrong internally as many Star parts can only be replaced with original Star parts, third party stuff won't work.
G&G is without a doubt the best of the lot.

Cool cheers. I read some reviews on the net saying the build quaility on the G&G is poor. Geabox failures and the rails bending. Take it you havent had any of these problems?

I dont own either, but I have bought loads of both low cost "clones" and high-end expensive AEG's.

If I was just starting out - I'd buy the DEagle. Infact; buy 2 of them (one spare!). Better to practice surgery on cheaper stuff as well.

As a more experienced player - personally I'd go for the G&G - from what I've seen of them in the field; they're really well built bits of kit.

Also, buy from an Irish seller - maybe a few euro dearer but the back up you get from shops like Eirsoft or MIA will be second to none.

Go in and have a look at them first - you may find that you dont like the feel of an AEG once you get it in yer mits...

    Just my 2 cent.
    Hope it helps
    Aidan.

Yeah the deagle is seductivly cheap but wouldnt mind spending the bit extra to get a nice piece of kit. Think im leaning towards the G&G. Will be a while anyway before i can justify buying a new AEG. Its just so damn addictive:D

It all depends, are you fussy about details. If you arent, get the DE and a load of extras. Functionally its great. Min shot 327 out of the box. It can very accurate with the hop set right. ROF is slightly low on 8.4 but you can fit a 9.6 in seconds by removing the cover on the back, the stock covers the batt instead. This gives a very respectable ROF. Internals are all metal. No issues to report after thousands of rounds. Hi-caps are fine. The only thing is the finish of the plastic is a little off. Thats it. When I bought it was €90, a complete steal.

If you want that extra "finesse" try the GandG, otherwise DE are grand.

if its your first gun then you might wanna get something cheap and cheerful like the DE but as the other lads have said, it cant really touch the quality of the G&G one., :)
