Well, back to what I really enjoy yesterday - Leinster rugby. A great win, in the end, and I got enough shots I was happy with.

    Here's a small sample -

Hopefully a good season ahead for Leinster.

Wow! They're even better than your own very high standard ones.

Gutted I couldn't make it but should be there for the Magners League opener.

How was the lighting there Paul?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,381 ✭✭✭✭Paulw

Light was actually good. Decent daylight and the floodlights really helped. Decent shutter speeds without need to push ISO over 800.

    Enjoyable to watch and photograph.

Looking forward to the Magners League too.

Some high quality shots there Paul. I expecially like the expressions in #3 - very well timed and captured. The framing of #2 is very good esp with the Guiness sign almost central to the frame.

Here's a few of mine from the same match. Given that PaulW was directly in front of me there may be one or two similarities!

    Jackman scores Leinster's first try.

Off topic I know but why were Leinster wearing Green?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,381 ✭✭✭✭Paulw

It was an eco-friendly game, hence the green. Supposed to be a carbon neutral event.

To highlight the environment awareness scheme they were running yesterday.

Just used for that game to highlight climate change or something. Leinster play in blue usually. :P

Almost a great picture! Kids in the background would have made it, but they're blurred - and not sufficiently to make it a classy use of DOF.

Love this one, excellent. Up the saturation a notch to make the colours pop out.

Great shot, but missing feet ruin it! Bear that in mind next time - practice makes almost perfect!

Run of the mill rugby shot, nothing special. More missing limbs, feet, don't be afraid to zoom 'out' a little.

That was probably Inpho or Sportsfile, since they were seated beside me. Just the way it goes. But, nice to know what I capture is comparable to what is printed.

I'm looking forward to the Magners League now, and some more pitch side action.

KJ_2008 ... or Overdraft, or whatever your nickname is now, thanks for your comments, but I'd appreciate if you didn't comment on my photos. And FYI, you can't zoom out with a prime lens.
