harrington out of fedex cup?

just wondering if padraig is now out of fed ex cup because he missed cut at tpc boston? can he play in next event.jaysus what a fantastic second round.only missed cut by one after a 75 in first round!

My understanding is that he will still be in the BMW championship next week, he went in to this week in 23rd, dropping 20 places after MC last week. Top 70 go to next event, so would say he will drop to 40s at most.

However will have to play better at BMW as if he isn't in top 30 at end of it he won't go to the tour champs after the ryder cup.

I caught an interview he did with Setanta after his 1st round on friday. Have to say it's the most dispondent I had ever seen Harrington in an interview. He had finished his round bogey, triple-bogey so that could be why. Was very pleased to see he bounced back with a 65 in round 2 even though he still missed the cut by a shot. Hope he gets to the tour champs though not the end of the world if he doesn't after what he's already done this season.

Current projections put him in around 47th place so he gets into the third tournament. However as Copacetic says above he needs a big event to guarantee him a sport in the final Top 30 event.

He needs something to boost him before the Ryder Cup too!

Well Nick Faldo didnt give him much of a boost yesterday with the rubbish he came out with. I'm sure Padraig is relishing a pairing with Poulter

ya he is def involved next week...looking forward to the tournament with the Ryder Cup coming up...it'll be a great way to watch all the players involved from both teams
