    Hi Guys!, :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

    What would a primary teacher get paid with a level 8 business degree, a h. dip in primary education?, and how much more would you get with all this and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
    (I clearly never want to leave college :D)

    Ive looked through all the prior posts and other sites, and just cant find an answer that satisfies ALL of this.

    look at the into website and it should be listed there, otherwise try tui or asti, they all have it on their websites under pay and conditions of service

    Or you could read the sticky at the top of the forum, cunningly titled "Teachers Salary Scale".

    The salary scale is all we are told, you are paid for a degree, postgraduate degree and also HDipEd, all dependent on hons or pass levels.

    For somebody starting off:

    common basic scale point 2 = 33,753

    Honours degree allowance 5,177

    Yard duty allowance (if doing it) 1,879

    40,809

    You only get one qualification allowance for either level 8 or Hon. H.Dip.

    Nothing for post grad Dip now .....was allowed a few years ago for Dip. in Sp. Ed. but that has now stopped.

    if somebody succeeds in obtaining a post of responsibility in time then there's an extra allowance for that plus basic scale is increased for each year of service once Dip. is completed.

    Level 7 = Pass degree
    Level 8 = Honours degree

    If you had a masters degree then your allowance would be higher but you can only have one degree allowance ......the highest paid one.....so if you had a masters degree you would get a degree allowance of 5,785 instead of 5177 illustrated above for honours degree - 508 more per annum for a masters degree above an honours degree.

    then the quote above would be wrong, you can get an allowance for both a level 8 AND an hons HDIP

    The really cool thing is the degree doesn't have to have any relationship to subjects taught!
