I've got a male Guinea Pig which came here as rescue and my son confiscated *Carrot* so he stayed here. 2 weeks ago I got a further two (female) GP's via a family at my son's creche, they were *unwanted pets* so I agreed to take them. Wanting to be able to let all three live together I decided the easiest route would be to have the male neutered. So I started calling vets in my area and was in for a surprise: most wont neuter GP's and the one that does quoted a whopping 120 Euros.

    Surely that can't be right???

Well I'd say most country vets wouldn't.....maybe try a city vet who might specialise in smallies? A bit of a trek maybe but still. I'd be worried about a vet who doesn't specialize in smallies doing it anyway. Good luck! :)

I have an excellent vet who recently neutered two young male boars for me.

She is very good, very experienced and she loves Guinea pigs.

If you are around the west / south side of Dublin I can recommend her.
