ok , lets have em , good , bad , funny , scary stories of drummers and clicks .
    from you pro lads.

and some tips - aim for dead on with the odd fluffed strike / low volume strike

or aim for tone and stike and let the time wander ?

or aim for both ( and be paying the drummer alot of money ) .

Since I've been sitting back in the Producer seat in the last year by far the best thing I've been involved in is Glen Baker's album.

The reason for that, I think, is because of the rhythm section, drummer Jay Oglesby and the bass player whose name I can't remember .....

Them boys lit it all up for me - and for everyone else on the album.

I don't like the options. A click track is a useful tool but if I had a drummer who was absolutely perfect on every click I'd have an add in the buy and sell. Same for a drummer whose main concern was tone. Feel, swing and flair are things I like from a drummer and it doesn't take huge amounts of extra practise to be able to do those to a click. I've come across many that have been able to do it without ever having tried it before.

Now, grab your sticks and meet me on the 1 and on the 3 and everything will work out fine.:cool::cool:

i once did a session where i was so in time that my hihats were phasing with the click.

That was something I never thought I'd have to apologise for.

I recorded the track on the myspace there:D he a nice player and a cool human. Plenty of lads in Dublin who can cut it with a click. It's par for the course now.
