Was looking at my new 400D today practising with manual controls which I know nothing about. Anyway to cut a long story short I was reading the book and the camera switched itself off, no problem except it wouldn't switch back on.
    Started sweating bigtime.
Maybe dead battery, ok put in the spare ( well organised), but no go camera still wouldn't switch on, now really starting to sweat.icon8.gif
Put the battery on charge in the vain hope that the spare was also dead.
Spent 3 miserable hours waiting for the battery to charge up.
Finally all was ready, replaced the battery and low and behold camera switched on had got my knickers in aq twist over nothing.
Lesson well learnt all sweet and light again. icon7.gif

Haha! :) Thankfully it was nothing major.
I did something like that when I got my new camera last week too.
I've learnt to get over the excitement and read the manual:D

Actually your camera may have reset itself from the prolonged battery absence, next time (hopefully there wont be one) try take out the battery for a minute or two...
