One of the most noteable figures of British tv and radio comedy died today. Perkins was the head of Hat Trick Productions which gave us The Fast Show, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, The Armstrong and Miller Show, Father Ted and Drop the Dead Donkey plus many others. He also produced Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galxay for BBC radio 4 and went on to write and star in Radio Active and its TV spin-off KYTV.

He was not "famous" like many of the stars of his programmes but he was a central part of my formative years RIP.

and now a clip :) Okay its the tv series which he didn't produce but its basicly the radio series with pictures.

    Mike

Very sad to hear of his death.

Last night on Radio 4 they said he was behind the Mornington Crescent game on "I'm Sorry, I Haven't a clue", but I remember him for being behind TV work.

He made a few appearances on a few TV shows, most notably as the voice translator of Father Hernandez in an early episode of Father Ted.

    RIP :(

By pure coincidence I started watching a Father Ted box set the other night and was listening to Graham Linehan's commentaries. He was talking about Geoffrey on it and praising him.
