Leonardo DiCaprio played the son of an Irish immigrant in Gangs of New York, and an Irish lad in The Departed.

Is this coincidence or does he have some interest in playing Irish roles?

    or maybe Martin S. does?!

.....I don't think he has any Irish connection. His maternal grandmother is German. Not sure about his paternal side.

Did'nt he also play the role of an irish role in the Titanic film?

Still, nothing can be as bad as Tom Cruise in 'Far & Away'.

I think you're right. I think Scorsese (or whatever the spelling) has move from Italian gangs to Irish gangs...
