I take it from your user name (and from other posts you've made here) that you're German? If so, you should be aware that, generally speaking, specialist doctors such as gynaecologists only work out of hospitals here in Ireland. You'll not find them with their own private practices by themselves, like you'd typically find a Frauenartz in Germany for example.

Usually what happens is that you first have to go to your own GP (Hausartz) who will assess your problem and then, if necessary, refer you to a suitable specialist, such as a gynaecologist, at a local hospital that's convenient for you. Without such a referral letter from your GP, you'll generally get nowhere trying to get an appointment on your own with such a specialist.

    Hope this helps.

No problem! I lived in Germany for many years so know how things work over there, and it's a little bit different to here (and many other countries too!).

You may find a (probably female) doctor who has a strong interest in women's medicine and they may be a better bet than just picking a doctor at random from the phone book. The best idea is to ask around some of your female friends in the area and ask if there's anyone they can recommend.
