I had a junction box installed outside my back door from which I could run a cable out into the garden for lights (still haven't gotten around to this yet). However, I now have a large shed thats fairly gloomy and I would like to know if this junction box, which is controled from a switch inside the back door, could be used to run a cable out to the shed to power lights in there. The run would be about 20 metres. And if this possible, does it mean that the garden lights are out or can they too be powered from the junction box?

Is it possible to fish another wire through to the switch inside the door?

If not then you could put a 2-gang outdoor switch beside the junction box - 1 for garden and 1 for shed.
The switch on the inside would be like a 'master switch' for both.

Looks like its option no 2 for me otherwise I'd have to remove plasterwork and chase the wall to install a new wire to the existing switch in the house..

    Thanks for the advice Steve

from the junction box you could run a swa cable to the shed for lights, if its a standard shed with no insulation i would recomend 36/58 watt corrosive proof fittings. also from the juction box you could take a spur and wire to an outdoor switch and wire your garden lights back to it, once you dont exceed the 10 amp rating at the mcb you should be ok.
