Not 100% sure, but your old job should have records of your p45, and they sent that onto revenue, so try revenue too. Basically what I'm saying is, check revenue because they are BOUND to have your p45 on file, and if not, the old company must keep a record of their employee's anyway

First of all I don't think emergency tax is too bad the first time round, so don't panic about that.

You could possibly contact your old employer and get them to send a copy?

Revenue should probably be able to provide you with a document with similar information also ?

Your old employer may be able to provide a reprint of it, but they're under no obligation to and many employers point blank refuse to do this.

Contact revenue, who can issue a tax credits cert to your new employer which has been adjusted for the amount of tax you paid in your old job.

Does a P45 have to be an original true copy? Or can it be photocopied??

For the record, you don't even need a P45 - either original or photocopied. You just need the figures from the P45.
