I want to create a really strong Mark Lanegan playlist. Can anyone recommend 10-14 tracks i should check out/download? This includes any of/all his collaborative efforts with Isobell Campbell, The screaming trees, qotsa, soulsavers, the gutter twins, solo work etc. Thanks

    QOTSA - In the fade
    QOTSA - Hanging Tree
Mark Lanegan band - Hit the City
Mark Lanegan Band - Wedding dress (a personal fav)
Mark Lanegan - The River Rise
Mark Lanegan - When Your Number Isn't Up
Qotsa - This Lullaby excuse the shit video

Thats all i can think of off the top of my head. You should look into the desert sessions also, lanegan sang in a fair few of the sessions. Any questions drop me a pm - qotsa related stuff is my specialty!

Lexington Slow Down on Here Comes that Weird Chill E.P
Idle Hands or any Gutter Twins songs
    God/Radio from QOTSA

Maybe just listen to various songs yourself and judge then wt you think to be his strongest too, dont necessarily go on all our opinions.

On another note, Hit the City at Electric Picnic was . What a set they plaed, and have the setlist of it too:D

+1 Idle Hands & Methamphetamine Blues.

otherwise any of his songs - he seems to be able to put out a high quantity of consistently high quality material

I'd go with 'hit the city' without a doubt...

and i'v heard a live version of 'song for the dead' featuring Lanegan and its class!

I didn't realise there was this many Mark Lanegan fans here-I'm impressed.

A few covers that haven't been mentioned:
'Man in the Long Black Coat' from the I'm Not There OST
    'Morning Dew' with the Trees

    Some down tempo songs:
    Julie Paradise - Screaming Trees
One Hundred Days - Mark Lanegan Band
Sworn & Broken - Screaming Trees
    In The Fade - QotSA
    Revival - Soulsavers
    The River Rise - Mark

    Some psychedelic builders:
    Gospel Plow - Trees
Because Of This - Mark L

The Twilight Singers - Number Nine(Blackberry Belle)
The Twilight Singers - Hard Time Killing Floor (She Loves You)
The Gutter Twins - Flow Like a River (Adorata)

    Pure brilliance at EP.

Isnt Adorata only available on digital release? Or will it be available soon as hard copy?
