    Anyone know if arnotts is closing?! I know - not exactly the most exciting topic ever - but I just posted on the biz forum and there's 4 people viewing it.. and yet I'm curious now! I want bargains!!

    Check to see if there's "closing down" posters and stickers all over the windows. If there is, I'm not sure what it means. If not, I suggest panic buying just in case.

    nah twas just that it was on the news that they were supposed to close and move to arnotts ages ago - and that was supposed to happen in august - but august is running out! nothing on their windows that I can see!

    It was due to close this month but they pushed t back to January. But the are downsizing and relocating. Moving into the old Debenhams in the Jervis centre

    I heard the reconstruction/rennovation will be starting soon (end of September I think). Arnotts will be moving to where Debinhams used to be in the Jervis while this work is taking place.

    Yep, they were supposed to move into the Jervis where Debenhams is/was. Think there was a delay due to an issue with planning permission though. Not sure for how long. I'm sure it'll be advertised widely if/when any clearout sale is on.

    This is wrong. In fact they are going ahead with a massive capital investment to modernise Arnotts and incorporate a new shopping sector along with the now closed GPO Arcade. During this period a scaled down Arnotts will continue to operate from the former Debehams site in the Jervis Centre.
