I'm currently studying history as part of my degree along with economics. I can fulfill most of the points laid down by the teaching council. However, I'm not sure precisely what they mean when they say

History must have been studied as an integral part of the degree course with a substantial element covering Irish and European History

I'm going into 2nd year but only intend on doing a term of Irish history and focusing on European and American after that. Do people think that would suffice? Any help would be appreciated.
