I got my TM Desert Eagle in the post this morning, delighted! Now I just need to learn how to use the thing properly.

    1. Is there a correct way of filling the mag with gas? Am I supposed to turn it upside down (as I saw on a couple of sites)?

    2. I saw a few people here mention silicon oil. What's that do and should I get some?

    3. What kind of maintenance do I need to do?

    4. Can't remember my other questions now! But if anyone has any other advice on the gun fire away, pun not intended...

Yes, hold the mag (and gas) upside down and fill, this ensures that you get liquid gas into the mag, otherwise you'd only get 2 or 3 shots out of a fill.

silicone oil is used to lubricate pistols and aegs because it does not damage rubber o rings the way other lubricants such as wd-40 would.

In pistols, it is a good idea to lube the slide rails and the internal workings every now and again

just the afore-mentioned occasional lube is about all you need.
