    Hi Guys,
Just a question in relation to technical running clothing or synthetic, fabrics "CoolMax, Dri-Fit and Gore-Tex", do these items lose their ability to move sweat away from your skin to the outer surface of the fabric, where it evaporates through age, wear and tear and washing of the clothing item?

    Thanks

eventually yes, and some of them tend to smell a bit funny after a while (helly hanson stuff is particularly prone to the eau-de-sweat) but I usually find I've put a hole in something or it's gone out of fashion before the functionality is gone so it's not a huge concern.

Apparently fabric softener is to be avoided if you're washing technical clothes.

Have to say that the dri-fit is the best i've ever used have the same t shirt for over 3 years and run in it everyday and wash it everyday (5 days a week) and as good as the day i got it. Find the other one to be nowhere near as good imo

Slightly off topic but do clothes over time hang onto the smell of sweat? I've a few tshirts that, even if newly washed and I throw them on for casual, round the house wear they start smelling REALLY quickly.

EDIT: Tshirts I normally run in that is :)
