I just got back from hols and my desktop wont turn on. Not a peep out of it and no lights showing.
I suspect the power supply. Any way to know for sure before I buy a new power supply? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Try a different IEC first. Check the main fuse board? Will other items power up from the socket the computer is plugged into? Plugboard in the loop? Try removing that and go straight into the mains? Surge protected plugboard? Is there a reset switch?

Thanks. It's straight into the mains and other items will power up from that socket. EDIT and there's no reset button on the power supply. (Antec SL350SP)

Was it left plugged in while you were away? Could have got a power surge or something and frazzled the insides of it?

It was unplugged at the mains for the last 2 weeks.
There was no "bang" or anything when I plugged it in today, it just didn't work.

Id check the fuse on the plug, if thats ok id try a different kettle lead.

After that you could see if you could borrow a PSU from another pc or an old one you had to check its the PSU for definite before buying on.

FYI - I got it fixed eventually :D But it nearly drove me mad first! There was something wrong with the power supply and what happened was that I'd plug in a known-good kettle lead and unnoticed by me the PSU would blow the fuse in the plug. It took me ages to figure out what was happening. I now have 3 dead kettle leads and a new power supply. Thanks for all the help!
