I just bought a studio laptop from dell yesterday and sent a bank draft to them with my order no. and "dell" in the recipient line and posted it off but I'm kinda unsure about whether that was ok or not, I was going to do it by cheque but the lady at the bank said to use a draft.
Has anyone else used a bank draft to pay dell?
    Does it work out ok?
I've rang dell a few times but they're not much help.
Anything to ease my mind would be appreciated €1100 is a lot of money for me!

If you put the order number on the back then there should be no problems.

I don't know why the bank clerk told you a draft would be better - a cheque is fine; except there's no commission for a cheque!

I'd say they will take the draft-they're not likely to refuse money I suppose but I just got an email from dell and my order no. and customer have changed!?? so the ones I put on the draft aren't right anymore, gah!
I think I'll call them, though my sales guy is so damn incompetent he doesn't seem to know anything and I can hardly make out a thing he says!

When you ordered the notebook the number you were given is the Booking Reference Number (or even the Quote number).

Once the order downloads to Dell's production system, the Order number is generated and an email is automatically sent out to you - I'd imagine that's the reason you've got two different numbers.

Your customer number (IExxxxxxxx) should stay the same though.

(And they do actually refuse money - cash anyway. You can't turn up at Cherrywood with a wad of notes and pay in cash).

Hope that allays your fears - if not, PM me the numbers and I'll get my mate to check it for you.

Yeah I was on the dell chat customer support earlier today- the first sales advisor just disconnected after I asked her, but the second one helped me out and I think it will be ok now, and I'm even more reassured since you have said something similar to what she said.
So, problem solved, thanks for your help!
