Hello all, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster.

Myself and a friend are in the beginning stages of writing a detective/horror comic, and have come to the conclusion that working with an artist might help the process! For anyone that's interested here's a brief synopsis:

Rural Ireland during the famine: the population of a remote town is overrun and killed by a group of emaciated wanderers who, in their desperation, have turned to cannibalism in order to survive. A small few escape and later emigrate.

Today: An American construction magnate by the name of Paul Cassidy is in Ireland to trace his ancestry, but goes missing. His research led him to the conclusion that his relatives left a remote town (yes, that one) in rural Ireland during the famine. It will later be discovered that the village's current occupants are descended from the crop of cannibals who first overran the town and, completely isolated for generations, have continued eating human flesh whenever it can be found. The act of cannibalism has become almost a religious act to them now, as Paul has found out to his detriment.
Paul's wife, Claire, arrives from the US to find a fruitless Garda search in it's final stages. Claire is not motivated by love for her husband, but by a desire for his assets, which she will not inherit unless his status changes from 'missing' to 'dead'. The search having failed, one of the Gardaí in charge of the search recommends a private Detective to the frustrated woman.

The detective is Frank McCabe. He is an atrocious detective, who gets by partly because of his 'hard man' credentials (he is ex army) and partly because an indulgent Garda friend sends work his way sometimes.
Claire solicits Frank who, although suspicious of her motives, takes
the job out of sheer greed.

That's as much as we have solidly plotted so far. As for the last half what we know for sure is that he will spend a while in the town ruffling a few feathers and that the final pages will be an explosion of carnage!

We're going for a sort of Wicker Man/Bad Day at Black Rock feel with the story. Our original intention was for it to be done in black and white or greyscale but we're pretty open.

If anyone's interested or knows someone who might be, my email address is daobrien@yahoo.ie

    Thanks for reading...
