the title of this thread says it all. is there anywhere in Dublin where I can buy last year's drivers at reasonable prices? also it would be preferable if this shop accepts trade ins.

    thanks

I bought a wedge in American Golf (Tallaght). They are a chain and the shop is quite big. They seemed to have a wide range of drivers.

MgGurks in Howth would probably be a good place to try too.

If you really want to know the place to go to buy anything golf related, then look no further than Cunningham's Golf Style in the Lisbaun industrial estate in Galway City. They accept trade ins, have hundreds of new and second hand clubs, sale on for golf clothes atm. Heaven!

    thanks K4T.

more suggestions are welcome. also, do these shops let you try out the clubs before you buy them?

    cheers

There is a practice area (mat and net) at American Golf and you can try whatever clubs you want in it for free. :) I think there's a putting area too, not sure.

Halpenny golf at Swords and Drogheda always have a good selection of special offers on last season clubs. Details on their website.

McGuirks Blanch normally have one or two used, recent model drivers that have been traded in. Also last weekend I saw new Titleist D1s for 199. It's not so long ago since the D1 was a lot dearer than that.

I don't think the shop has anywhere to hit the clubs though.

McGuirks used selection is normally good and I know earlier this year they had the 07 version of the Cobra F speed at E149 for a special. I went in to buy this one but found a used 06 version of it for only E60! Now all I have to do is get some consistency with it!!!

    Guys

    thanks for the responses.

I'm fairly new to golf and will probably either buy a new cheap (but still pretty good) driver, or a more top of the range second hand one. Can anyone give me a steer on prices for both - I would like to know that good value actually is before going to golf shops.

    thanks a million

the pro shop in Birr Golf Club is worth the drive they have every club made in the last 10 years in stock worth a look and with a driving range to try the club before you buy!
