Has anyone ever tried the nlp fast phobia cure and did it work. I should declare i do not have a phobia but find the possibility it may work fascinating

Do you mind saying what your phobia is and where you tried it?

fear of tall buildings. paid for the paul mckenna thing, 20 euro i think. did the whole thing of imagining myself at back of cinema and running footage backwards, followed by relaxation and embedding techniques. not a hope! :p

    Thing? A book?

If you mean you did it on your self it might not be any harm to have someone trained in nlp do it because, while i do not advocate or know much of nlp it seems that trying to do it your self you get in your own way

sorry wasn't being very clear there. It's an audio file that you download from his site for a few quid. It's him talking you through what to do, you just put it on, sit back and follow instructions. Quite pointlessly i must add! certainly wouldn't give money to someone to help me unless it was no success no fee basis, and giving payment at the end

did it take away your phobia for a while?? give us more details.
I honestly can't understand why everyone here seems to be more concerned with talking about their phobia and what it's called and how it comes on rather than trying to get rid of the damn thing.

it didnt get rid of my phobia it just calmed down my panic attacks for a little bit. I was doing a session every week for a good while.

NLP or CBT are teh 2 best for this type of thing

i went to see a bloke in blackrock who did NLP / Timeline Therapy and for 3 days after i felt like never before , no worries couldnt even remember panic attacks , he asked me at start of session to remember my lasp panic attack , feel the sensations , live it to the full , and i did , but after 1 hour he said now go back and live it again feel the sensations and i couldnt , i couldnt remember panic attacks , i went away for 2 days the next day without no worries

but he was emmigrating so could meet up again , but it does work just some people are not as good as relating material to things

i only went to NLP / Timeline Therapy for 1 session , i know that if i went say 10 times id be alot better

im the same i always think the negative , and 99 % of time the anticipation is worse than the attack itsself

like if somebody says u comming to town , i'll automatically say no i cant , never we'll see

need to get into a positive state of mind alot more , just instead of worry look forward to it

and the thing is i know 100 % it wont hurt me , and that i have got them loads of times over 10 years and nothing has ever happened , so when i get one , why cant i remember this

The NLP Fast phobia cure can very successful when used right and in the right circumstances. NLP Fast phobia cure works best with small phobia (phobia of slight reactions) If you are doing it on your own just following the step there is a lot of information you need to be successful. What are the submodalities of your fear ?? Which submodalities are best to change ?? For instance if you have no idea what the above means you should not be doing it by yourself or at lest need to read up more before doing it again. If your phobia is strong and you get into a panic attack the FPC is not for you... Also if you have more then one phobia or a strong phobia you might need to talk to someone... Hope this helps.

Do you mean the cure of not being able to remember panic only lasted 2 days?

What happened after the week? And can you tell more of the therapy what he did to make you forget. Amazing you could not recall panic for a week. Does it not open your mind to the possibility of forgetting altogether?
