Is there ANYTHING to do in south dublin/dublin city that is NOT a disco for results night?

Like any gigs with smallish bands? just rock music perhaps?

dance music hurts my ears, but will probably end up going to a disco in the end, just wondering if anyone had any ideas??

    cheers in advance

Hm... I'm not sure if these guys have anything for the exact results night... But you can take a look anyway
    - http://www.myspace.com/umddublin - Underground Music Directory... they've got listings of sort of local bands and when they're doing gigs etc. Though they tend to be in smallish pub-type venues, they've got all-ages shows as well.

You don't have to go to a disco. I'm not mad on that so I went to the cinema with some friends. Okay I didn't have the crowds of admiring fans the next day listening to stories of how off my face I was, but I enjoyed myself.

Alternately you could have people over to your house and listen to music of your own choice/play games/whatever you young folk do for fun these days.

I went to a friends house and she had a tent set up in her back garden, we went inside to watch telly and then I slept there when everyone went back to the tent cos I was exhausted.

I'm really no fun when I'm tired :(

Hmmmm, while i have no suggestion per say, i might do my part to try and help/profit from :p future generations by trying to organise a gig myself, for the JC night of years to come.

I know the guy who sets up Invasion. Went to the one last last year when we including him were finished with our Junior Certs. It was a fun night. Last year was setup for my friends' band to play and it was going to be in a GAA club but the owner quickly called it off because he was afraid of the underage drinking. Doubt it'll be on again after the huge messup he made.
