Quick H'cap Question

The CONGU site is down and I just want to double check something.

I got to 5.4 on Saturday and played the Lord Mayor's on Sunday. SSS for the course on Sunday was 68 and CSS for the day was 70.

I had a crap round and wasn't in the buffer zone, for sure, but if CSS deviates from SSS by 2 does it make the come reduction only? ie: nobody gets .1 back?

Or does it need to deviate by 3 to be reduction only?

I'm playing this evening and as there's nothing on GolfNet and they're not on Howdidido, I just wanna make sure I don't play off the wrong h'cap.

As far as I am aware you only are intitled to reduce your own hcap as a result of a score, for increases your club must make the adjustment. You may wait a couple of days for your shot!!

As of this year .1s take immediate effect I'm pretty sure.

You dont get diqualified for playing off a lower handicap, surly 1 shot wouldn't make that much difference???!!

.1's take immediate effect but the change has to be posted in your club or reflected on golfnet. although you are going to get the .1 you cannot assume it, it needs to be posted.

2 shots off SSS isn't non counting. i think its 4 shots for it to be reduction only.

Spot on Paul - thanks for that.

As it turns out, even if it's posted on Golfnet in your Away Recs, it doesn't take effect until it merges into your Handicap Sheet itself!

Bit mad really but that's as per the GUI.
