Right as plenty of you know Paddy Hyland is promoting a bill on the 6th of September for his 3 sons.

    According to http://www.irishnews.com/articles/597/556/2008/8/26/596047_355272025210Allaction.html
    the opponents are:

Paulie Hyland v Sandie Kizito (http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=22066&cat=boxer)

Patrick Hyland v John Gicharu (http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=314629&cat=boxer)

and Eddie Hyland v Geoffrey Munika (http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=28338&cat=boxer)

To be honest it's the type of opponents you'd expect on a small bill like this. They'll provide little threat but should last the distance and give the lads a decent workout.

The only disappointing thing is Munika has fought Patrick Hyland before and I'm not sure how useful it is to swap opponents around between the brothers.

The good thing is they're being kept active anyway and hopefully they'll each get another(more testing) fight in before the end of the year.

I'd say it'll be an entertaining nights boxing all the same, the 3 brothers are decent to watch and Paulie looks a decent enough prospect. He'll be facing a former African Super-Bantamweight champion and Kizito's number of losses don't look so bad when you consider 3 were to Vic Darchinyan, another was to Hussein Hussein and another to Nathan Sting.

Anyone know who else is on the card and what the story is with ticket prices? Haven't heard much about this one so I presume it's not going to be televised? The three opponents don't look to be up to much to be honest. Would have liked to have seen the lads defending their Irish titles.

I'm not sure anyone else will be on the card, there's been no mention of other fighters so far and there's only 2 weeks to go. It's possible there isn't any more considering the Hyland's will be the ones selling the place out anyway and there is going to be a few cards between September and October so fighters may have other plans than being on the undercard of this.

No idea on ticket prices for this, it won't be on tv but I suppose there's a good chance for the fights to be recorded(like the last Hyland bill) and put up on youtube.

Granted the last Hyland bill was of a better standard http://www.boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=549789 infact that was probably worthy of tv, but the opponents are really what you'd expect of a card like this. They'll probably be game, but just a little overmatched in the skill department.

It would have been nice to see Irish title defences but there aren't that many opponents about and they probably think that they're best saving Irish title defences for Tommy Egan promotions on TV 3 should they come up.
For instance I can only think of one genuine Super-Bantamweight that Paulie Hyland could defend against, which is Stuart McFadyen. Of course you could have Colin Moffett or Eugene Heagney come up from Bantamweight aswell.

Sure you've the likes of Dunne, but that's not realistic. It's worse for Patrick Hyland I don't think there's any realistic contenders for him. Maybe if Martin Lindsay was to lose his British title eliminator to Derry Matthews but Lindsay would be far too good for Hyland so that'd never happen.

Eddie actually has Jamie McKeever and Ryan Barrett who are both realistic opponents so he's okay that way but it shows that opponents are very limited for Irish title fights. Especially at the lower weights.

Unrelated to this bill, Michael Gomez will fight again in Ireland for the first time since 'the incident' in October. I'm guessing it will be on a Brian Peters bill.

I think Gomaz has redeemed himself since that debacle. I wonder if Stevie Collins got to the bottom of that in the end?? :D

I was impressed to a degree with him against Khan, so I wouldn't mind seeing him again. As long as Uri Geller doesn't turn up

Don't worry, Geller was with Peter McDonagh. Maybe it was the absence of Geller that caused him to lose to Murray :P

I think Gomez has taken too many punches for his own good, but if the man is going to keep on fighting(which he is), he may aswell do it here and entertain us.

Just had a look on boxrec and got quite a shock, Gomez isn't the only one back in Ireland. Francis Barrett is making a return. Barrett had seemed to have given up the game and hadn't fought in 3 years but he'll return on Phil Sutcliffe's card. He used to be pretty decent a while back it will be interesting to see what he has left. Hopefully more than Corbett.

Wasn't Eddie Hyland supposed to be defending his title against Gomez on an Egan bill in September or October, maybe that's it? Gomez said after Khan that he was going back down to super feather. That would have been an interesting one.

There was also talk about a rematch with Kevin O'Hara but that all went quiet too.

Agree with you about the lack of opposition for Patrick Hyland but Paul against Moffett or Heagney would be ok, albeit I'd expect Paul to dominate against either.

What about Paul fighting Wayne McCullough. He says he's not retired. Wouldn't like to see it personally becuase it would be a sad way for McCullough to go out but it would be a good scalp for Paul.

Just did a search there and found this, Sutcliffe's promotions site:

    http://www.dolphilboxing.com/

It has info on the Killarney show. A lot of fights but some of the guys don't exactly look ripped in the photos!

Also had a look at http://www.brianpeterspromotions.com Nothing about his next show there but the sites been improved and there some videos there from some of the undercard fights on the last Lee bill which is good to see.

Also found this for Tommy Egan http://www.tommyeganpromotions.com/ but it only seems to be about white collr stuff. Maybe he's concentrating on that now? His first pro show didn't seem to be a big hit ticket wise.

I think Tommy was doing the white collar stuff before his TV3 venture. The last bill wasn't a success, about 500-600 there with what I can only assume was small tv ratings. There was very little advertisement for it and the location of the National Basketball Arena was a terrible choice. He should of just looked to use the stadium. As far as I'm aware Tommy plans to continue on with it for another while and hasn't been too disheartened by his first attempt. I've no idea what TV3 thought though.

Eddie v Gomez would be pretty interesting, I would favour the faded Gomez but making weight would be tough for him and even up the score a little. If Eddie could wither the storm(and I'm really not sure he could) he might be able to outlast Gomez down the stretch, as Gomez is only good for 5/6 rounds nowdays.
Would be a great fight though. I don't think the Hyland's would want a rematch with Kevin O'Hara, O'Hara is more than good enough to reverse the outcome and a second win over Sweet Pea wouldn't accomplish much.

I don't think Heagney's people would go for a fight with Paulie, Moffett's probably would but I don't know how much of a test Colin could really over Paulie. Moffett's a very small Bantamweight and at Super-Bantamweight he'd be so undersized and outskilled aswell that I'm not sure the fight would really make sense. It would be better to try and get someone like Walstad in for Paulie.

I don't even want to think about a McCullough fight.

What about Gomez-Murray for the Irish title. Would love to see McCullough live in action. Obviously not against a world beater or anything and tbh it even has to be a class below his last opponent.

As for the citywest bill, the opponents are ok, a gimme of sorts but its not made out to be anything it isnt. wouldnt mind going to see it.
