Prisoner officer (Recruit)

I had my interview in Dublin for a prison officer job and still waiting security clearance..what does a security clearance consist of??(as much info as possible) and has anybody got a reply from them??

Hi madpad,

Iv recently submitted my application form for the prison service, I was just wondering if you could give me some info on the aptitude tests... want i would need to study if anything?

Any info would be appreciated!

Did you hear anything back on the prison officer job? I have filled out my app for stage2 in Sep but have not heard a thing from them yet

im waiting 8 months now and heard nutin...d word is coz of ressesion i wont hear neting 4 a year or 2....

I know how you feel, its such a pain the a*rse! Did you do you physical?
I’ve rang the Public appointments but they don’t seem to be very helpful to be honest.

I take it spelling and grammar aren't a pre-requisite for the prison service, then?

I also have filled out application as requested for stage 2 recruit prison officer 2007 but have not heard anything since.I have rang public appointment service but they have been unable to give a answer as 2007.to when interviews will be held.what number on the order of merit were you placed and was it for recruit

Hi murphy1,
I got my letter for stage two in September and sent it off around the 26th of September but haven’t heard a thing back. Like you I rang the public appointments but they said they haven’t heard anything back, I also emailed them and got this.

“We have no dates for the next round of interviews. If we schedule more interviews you will be notified by post regarding this”

The thing I don’t understand is that they are recruiting more but yet not fully called up all candidates from the 2007 Champaign.
I came 1500 in order of merit, where did you come?

I came 1736 on the order of merit in the 2007 campaign.After getting my results i phoned public jobs and they say i will be garanteed a interview when they reach that number.As far as i know they have to finish out 2007 panels before they start interviewing the 2008 panels.You are at position 1500 the order of merit is now at 1460 so ive been told by public appointments.Surely you should be called very soon.Like me hopefully you will be as you qualify for interview by passing apptitude test.If they move on to the 2008 panel and do not finish the 2007 panel then i will be asking serious questions to public appoinment service.
I will keep you posted on any other info i get.

I done my interview in july 2008 and my medical.Same thing now told have to wait on security cleareance was told that in can take 6 to 8 months to get this.The 2008 campaign has started as they are interviewing the first 60 people end of january.I emailed prison service and they said that s/c varies from person to person and that it c,ant be rushed.All you are is a number on a list and when you are needed you get called up.I would be optimistic in gettimg called soon as alot of prison officers are retireing.

Just out of curiosity, where did you get placed on order of merit?

hows it going i came 1080 what happens is you get alot of students applying for public job exams not even wanting the job .They just want to get their brains in gear for their collage exams.

hiya tommy.just wondering have you heard anything from the prison service recently.i done the test in 2007 and im waitin for my physical test.any idea when that is
