    They sure are laptop=notebook, notebook=laptop. Unless of course you're thinking of a netbook? a netbook would be a "mini" laptop, specifically aimed at internet browsing and light office work. Asus eee, acer aspire one, advent 4211 are all examples of netbooks. They generally don't have cd/dvd drives to save space.
