right ... here goes

I have a sony vaio laptop and the drive was partitioned to show a c and d drive. I bought a new 320gb drive and installled with the hope of doing a clean install of vista.

The boot vista installation completed and when the computer prompts to restart and does, all i get is the boot from disc menu or without the disc - just a blinking cursor.

Can anyone tell me where to go from there, I can get the old 80gb drive back in and vista works fully but i'd love to get this drive in there and get it working.

I have also tried the xp installation cd and the same result...
