    Orientation and registration for incoming first years is between the 8th and the 19th, lectures start the 21st...

    And ye go back a week earlier for orientation/registration - orientation isn't compulsory but it's a good idea to go. Registration, obviously, is important!

    Absolutely, if you do nothing else take the library tour. It's worth finding out how to get books out, where to get exam papers and so on. There are also more funky sections to the library like inter library loans, journals and the a/v section that are brilliant, but not so well known.

    People only have to go for Orientation for one day! Different courses have different orientation and registration days! Eg. All law courses have their registration and orientation on the 9th but lectures don't start until the 22nd!

    ya most people will be up that weekend anyway movin into apartments/houses etc. does anyone kno the orientation day for commerce students?

    The full list of orientation dates is here. Freshers fest is from the 19th to 21st, there are workshops and stuff like gigs and DJs in the Student Center; the all Ireland is being shown on big screens and there is a Ceilí too...
