    Quick question lads,

If you recently bought a car, but you didnt send off the reg documents yet, can you get the car NCT'd?

In other words, can a non-registered owner book and enter a car for an NCT test provided he has the most current reg document? (or do you have to be the person named on the reg cert?)

Pretty sure you're supposed to be the registered owner, but if the test was booked online you only need the reg number and the date of first reg to get in to make a booking, if you got the confirmation to be sent as a text instead of a letter then it would go to you and not the previous owner, OR, if you rung the booking office and gave the previous owners name and address, booked in the car and made sure the confirmation they send was a text to you number would that work?

Send off the reg and it'll be back by the time you get a NCT booking.

I bought a car on tuesday, booked nct on thursday over the phone and passed on friday. They simply took the details of the new owner over the phone and that was it.
