What are the prices for both of those?
And i guess you have to decide which size screen you want. If it's for carrying around college i'd say the 13" is the perfect compromise, personally, i found my dell 6400, with 15" screen a right pain to carry around. But that's just me.

it will be brought into college but hopefully not that often

prices are both about 800,not much in the prices

then i have the question of do i go for the 15inch with a better graphics card for the same price again

If their both the same price then the Studio 15 looks the better book. Unless I'm missing something.

    can u explain why??

ive heard the xps are better built and have a classier finish

XPS 1330 Graphics chips are none to be failure prone. It's not so much a problem for the 1530 version which I have. It tends to run a bit cooler. So far I've had no problems with my own 1530, so off the bat I'd recommend that if you want an XPS. It's lighter than a studio 15, and better put together.

You'd probably pay a similar mount for a 1530 with the same spec as the 1330. I think when I bought mine, the 1330 was the more expensive of the two for some reason.

But, a Studio 15 is a fine Laptop. I've seen them around, and they certainly get the job done. If I'd waited a few months, I probably would've bought one meself...especially with the new graphics options on the lid, but my old laptop was dying, and had to buy something to replace it.

    what do others think?

    xps or studio

Personally, if it's not going to be moved around all that much, i would go with the studio 15. Although i haven't had a chance to play with one myself i've heard they're quite good. It's better spec'd and i think the bigger screen would be a big plus.

If by the finger thing you meant the biometric fingerprint reader then I'd say no as they aren't that secure anywats. All you should expect is laptop, battery, charger and that's about it. You should get yourself a good bag as well.
