    Hey everyone,

Well I bought the k10d but i eh have an embarrasing situation...:o
I have it maybe a little over 5 hours... And eh well ...

This 'f--' message keeps flashing and I can't get rid of it!!
While this is up I can't take any photos which is really hindering my learning:mad:

I know its something to do with aperture but as to how to fix it I do not have a clue!

It was shooting fine earlier so I don't think it's the lens but when i take the lens off the camera will shoot.

I can see this being a very long process of learning !!:(

What lens are you using? Is the aperture ring on "A"?

    ah.. hem...
Just got more embarrasing after messing about with the lens... I moved the aperture ring off A..

    Please ignore the silly girl:o

I'll read the manual properly now before i go annoying everyone with silly Q's again.

Thanks for the reply TJM :)

    Thanks ThOnda:)

Now apart from silly question asking I have serious question asking:D

I'm going to need to get a lens or two I think.
I have a cheapy lens to learn with (pentax-f zoom 28-80mm) but I want to start looking for new ones (i'm very enthusiastic!).

Any suggestions would be extremely welcome:)

    Thanks!

    Hi Jen,

What sort of things do you like to shoot?. You need to pick a tool for the job as far as lenses are concerned.

Saying that, the Pentax limited primes (21mm, 40mm and 70mm) are very, very sharp if you have a particular application for them. The 70mm in particular is a beautiful portrait lens.

If wide landscapes are more your scene then the 12-24mm DA, 14mm DA and 16-45mm DA are very good.

There is also a new 17-70mm lens with SDM motor which is said to be very good. This would be a good general use lens.

    Congrats and welcome.
The 50mm F1.4 is very bright for indoor without flash
The 100mm, good for portrait and sharp for macro.
    The limited primes are brillant.
specially the 21mm, very sharp and perfect for landscape, street shots.

As zoom, both Sigma 70-300mm APO and 10-20mm.

The filters Hoya Pro1D UV are useful to protect lenses.
