Problem with my Toshiba Laptop

    I bought a Toshiba Laptop sum time ago, and after awhile, cracks started 2 appear on the back of the laptop " noticable when closed" underneath the hinges of the laptop.. The is a copper, metalic paint of sum kind of special surface on the laptop and i was wondering, can any1 suggest any ways i can fix this problem or has any1 have had the same problem...??
    All suggestions welcome, tanx a million...
