I've had one for over a year now. For the price they're pretty much unbeatable. A similar weight cloth to an Atama or other "big name" brand Gi, good solid collars, and didn't shrink in the wash. I'd buy another one.

I bought one a few months ago, excellent quality with a nice thick collar , its much better than the Atama gold weave one I bought on the internet (and paid twice the price for). I use it for BJJ and Judo and it holds up well.

    Just the man to ask.

Will it be ok for Judo competition, having a BJJ cut to it?.

    Hey Martin,

It is a excellent gi, it is light enought to wear on a BJJ mat as I find the double weave jackets very restrictive when you are on your back as they impeed movement, especially under the arms.
I like the fact that the collar is really thick with a single weave jacket as the thinner colllars cut the neck off you when fighting for grips standing up.

All in all a great jacket....

generally speaking bjj gis are not permitted in judo comps. i presume this is no different.

I guess it depends on the cut/sizing of the gi
The jacket shall be long enough to cover the thighs and shall at a minimum reach to the fists when the arms are fully extended downwards at the sides of the body. The body of the jacket shall be worn with the left side crossed over the right and shall be wide enough to have a minimum overlap of 20cm at the level of the bottom of the rib-cage. The sleeves of the jacket must reach to the wrist joint at the maximum and 5cm above the wrist joint at the minimum. A space of 10 to 15cm shall exist between the sleeve and the arm (bandages included), along the entire length of the sleeve.
The lapel and collar must be a maximum of 1cm in thickness and 5cm in width.
The trousers, free of any markings except for c3 and c7, shall be long enough to cover the legs and shall at the maximum reach the ankle joint and at the minimum 5cm above the ankle joint. A space of 10 to 15cm shall exist between the trouser leg and the leg (bandages included) along the entire length of the trouser leg.

Sorry Barry, we had a class for a while in various places in Swords on a Thursday last year, but the main spot has always been Joeys in Fairview.
I'm in Santry, it's only a few minutes more down the road :)
