Day trips to Anfield from Cork

Does anyone know any travel agent in Cork that offers day trips to Anfield? I've promised my younger brother (11) that I'll bring him to a game in Anfield this year but the ryanair flights out of Cork mean that I'd have to go on a Friday and come back on the Sunday which doesn't really suit.
I don't mind paying the extra booking through a travel agent. A day trip would be perfect.

The only flights from Cork are the Ryanair flights, same from Shannon and Dublin.

They only way to do it out of Cork is to fly unfortunately and as you said the ryanair times can be awkward. If you are willing to go to a midweek game you could fly over on the afternoon of the game and fly back early morning the next day. Last year, i got a midweek league cup match. flew over around 3pm on the day of the match, stayed in a b&b literally 5minuts walk from the airport (The Gateway Lodge in Speke) and flew back the next morning around 7. Flights cost 30 euro return, match ticket was easy to get due to it being the league cup. The whole trip cost about 120 euro.

The only way to do a day trip is through Dublin I think. go to Wharton Travel's website. They do coach tours from dublin for around 300 euros. Coach leaves after match. Could be a tough haul for an 11 year old as it leaves around 6 in the morning and arrives back in dublin 24 hours later.

If you end up going the travel agent route, Dawson travel is expensive, footballtrips.ie is a bit cheaper and a good service but both will end up costing a fair whack as they dont include flights.

Also, have a look on irishkop.ie, Its a fan website. they organise trips for Irish fans at cost price but im not sure of the details.

    Northside red

My self and some mates from work are planning a trip to Anfield on the 8th Nov for the West Brom game. We've booked flights out of Cork sat morning returning sun PM but are finding tickets and accomodation hard to get seperately without going through an agent.

We are all genuine fans and I'm wondering what's the best way to go about this??

If you dont have a fan card then you might get lucky on general sale.
You will have to be on the phone when the lines open.

Details of the west brom match are here:
    http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/tickets/ticket_info_78h_20081108.htm.

For accomodation, try www.visitliverpool.com (tourist office for the city)
    You can book online there.

But then you knew all that, being a genuine fan, right?;)

Cheers for the links. Been on both those sites, accommodation is less of a problem now found hotel rooms via US website. Tickets are a bit of a lottery though and some of the group won't take the chance without being assured of a ticket. Don't suppose every game sells out does it? Particularly West Brom!

Thanks for all that. I'm pretty sure we'll probably end up going to a midweek game. There's not much point traveling to Dublin for a day trip.
He really doesn't mind what game it is as long as he's there. It'll be his first trip and luckily we don't have to worry about tickets.
I was fully convinced that there'd be no problem getting day trip out of Cork. Ah well.
