Does anyone know anything about the history of this castle? As far as i am aware it has existed on the present day site for over 700 years with family names such as the Barnewells, Westby and Trimlestons having lived in it. The present building was built in 1876 along with the gate lodge on Roebuck Road.

For a castle that has been around for so long it doesnt seem to have much written about it. Can anyone shed some light on this?
