well done on a good performance, second round GnP victory over Peter Wilson, one thing i will say is that i thought the refereee was VERY slow to stop the fight, seemed like he didnt want to stop the fight and stop the belt coming down to Dublin but neil didnt get disheartened and kept the pressure on to force the referee to stop the fight....either way well done again Neil, well deserved title.......

Who was the referee, Aidan? I am sure he was fair, but gave Peter time to work out of trouble, I've never seen Aidan make a biased decision inside the ring and would be very surprised if he had.
That being said, well done Neill on taking the belt and well done Gary for the most repetitions of "stop* the fight" in one sentence ever :)

    Congrats to Neil.

If Aidan was the ref he generally gives guys plenty of time to get out of a bad spot, I've seen him give plenty of guys longer than probably other refs would. I don't think it has anything to do with bias to be honest.

Anyone have the rest of the results?

congratulations to neil who i know trains like a demon and has got his just rewards for his efforts .and personally i thought the referee was slow to stop the fight, at the end of the day bias or not peoples safety is the number1 priority.as for steve no doubts he drops huge weight and how he makes 61.5 it must kill him.but the beast got tamed by neil who walks around at 60 not once but twice.givin up at least 7 kilos.anyway fair play seery

and so he got his deserved title shot for doing it............took full advantage of the title shot too, delighted for him.

I thought the ref was slow stopping it at the start but to be fair your man was stopping alot of the shots at first and was pushing him back with his legs which is defending himself unlike my case where i just turled up and got pounded on. He might not of beenstopping shots but at the start he was defending himself IMO

Firstly agreed, great performance from Neil to win the EFR Bantamweight title, personaly i think he should have his sights on larger UK shows now, possibly a challenge for Paul McVeighs Cagewarriors world title.

We had four referee's on duty for this show all of whom were from different gyms,as were the judges, the Ref for this particular fight was Jonny Shields from IMMA.

Dont forget this is an A class title fight,Neil and Peter have put weeks of hard preparation into this and deserve every chance of getting out of a tough spot in the fight,Jonny stepped in when it was clear there was no way back for peter, and i feel stopped it at the right time.

We did not have any referee officiating when a member of his team was fighting,so the hint at the ref being biased in favour of peter is a little unfair,Mick Leonard holds our Featherweight title, and we have had Ollie Ellis from England,James Doolan from scotland amongst others to hold EFR titles

if we did'nt want titles to leave Northern Ireland we would have made it a Northern Irish Title.

That aside we had a great days action, and would like to thank all the fighters ,coaches, and a very appreciative crowd for a great day and helping raise money for the make a wish foundation who help very ill children get a chance to do something they really want to do.

dont get me wrong Davey i appreciate they've worked for weeks for this fight and i know its Pro A but i just thought personally there was a point about 20seconds before the stoppage were Peter folded up and i personnally think that it could ahve been stopped there for the fighters safety. was great to see peter push neil so well in the first and early 2nd, entertaining fight to watch and wish Peter all the best in Scotland on the 14th.

id also like to thank Davey for finding an equally if not tougher replacement for me to fight at such short notice so thanks to Davey for that and Steve for stepping in.
