Wii repairs

    So, my 6 month old Wii stopped booting (got as far as the "push A" screen and no further). Rang Nintendo, they said they'd send a courier to collect it, would repair it and send it back to me. Every week I was told it would be collected on Friday. It was finally collected 2 months later.

    Other than the boot problem (which came on suddenly - machine hadn't been dropped or damaged) there were no other problems and the Wii itself was pristine.

    A few days after Nintendo received it I got a bill for STG£70. Rang them up to find out why, and they said that the casing was cracked, it looked like someone had tried to remove the drive inside, the front panel was scuffed/broken. The guy on the phone went and phsyically brought it to his desk while talking to me, and said it looked like someone had been playing football with it. They said they're sorting it out with the courier, but that it could be another month or so before I get one back. As they'll have to send me a new one, all my saved game info will be lost. They did say if I had downloaded anything they'll be able to put those back on before returning it to me.

    Has anyone else had this kind of experience, or am I just unlucky?
